Camper van in the uk

I'm super excited that we have booked a camper van for a two week UK holiday next August!
Home is the midlands, so that will be our start and end point.
Are there any places that we mustn't miss?
Travelling with two children aged 8 and 11.
The children are keen to go Zip lining in Wales, and want to skim stones on a big lake!
Husband is a reluctant walker, so no big hikes, but we enjoy walking around pretty towns and villages and historic places.
We're happy to drive 3-4 hours between places, but not every day.
Help me with some ideas, please!

Unfortunately your 8yo won't be able to ride he Velocity zip wire at Penrhyn Quarry but Zipworld Slate Caverns and Zipworld Fforest would both be good suitable and I suggest you do both if possible. While you're staying there, your DC might enjoy Surf Snowdonia.

Oh really? I thought there were lines for younger children?
I will have a look at surf Snowdonia, thanks for the tip!

Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District have to be on the list.

Skyejuly · 23/09/2018 20:27

If you have 2 weeks I would withot a doubt do Scotland and the Islands.

Lake District definitely on there, and will have a look at Yorkshire dales too, thank you.

We've been looking at following the Scotland 250 route, think that the 500 would be a bit much. Any places to definitely stop at while there? We've seen some beautiful beach and castle photos!

We didn't follow a certain route. Just noted where we fancied. My aunt and uncle own a guesthouse in fort william so we went to steale(?) Falls waterfall, skye has the dinosaur footprints and some amazing beaches all along. Lewis also has some crystal beaches. We went to some of the outlander locations and also the heritage museum was good. We just stopped wherever really. X
