Ehu - adaptor needed for France?

Despite reading several articles online about this, I'm still not entirely clear about EHU.

We're novice campers and off to France soon. We've never used EHU before but I've bought the cable thing with what looks like a four gang extension plug. Is that all I need or do I also need a continental adaptor?

We needed a continental adaptor. We didn’t realise til we got there either and it was a nightmare trying to find one in France/ Belgium!

It's worth getting one, they are only a few pounds. We have found we have needed one on about a third of French sites. If you hope to hire a fridge, you will also need a 2 pin to 3 pin plug, again they are only a few pounds via Amazon/Wilco's.

Ah thank you. Looks like we need an adaptor then! We have fridge hire included with the pitch, but I assume I'll still need the adaptor for it. It hadn't even crossed my mind, so thanks for the tip!

I think so, bit hard to tell from that pic.

That looks like the one we have.

We have one of the continental adaptors although haven't had to use it yet- it just sits in the camping box in case.
Would also agree on adapter for fridge although we had one this year it was the wrong kind and wouldn't fit the fridge plug- but the campsite sold us one for seven Euro.

You definitely need the adaptor above to plug into their ehu just in case.

But you will also need a travel plug to plug the French fridge into your 4 gang extension plug.

Great, thanks for all the advice. Hopefully I've now got everything I need!
