We have a few days to fill between leaving Buckinghamshire and taking a ferry from Holyhead.

Somewhere chilled, slightly wild with mostly camping (not mobile homes) but allows campervan. Electricity would be useful.

Carrog Station Campsite on the A5. Next to a river you really can paddle in, steam trains and a lovely pub with river view terrace. It's so pretty.

Sorry, should have said the village is not on the A5 it's on its own away from the main road.

Glan Y Mor campsite. It right on Blackrock sands. You can also take your camper van on the beach.

Aberafon is a wonderful site, fairly basic with beautiful sea views and a private shingly beach
