Hoping to camp there this summer for a few days. Any site recommendations?

We were at Camping l'Aloua just over a week ago. It’s avout 4km from Annecy town, beautiful views of the mountains (bit not the lake), right on the cycle path that circles the lake, and a 5 minute walk from a Carrefour supermarket.

My first choice was Camping Au Coeur du Lac, as they are nearer Annecy and some pitches have lake views, with access to the lake, but they were full (and pitches were much tighter).
We also tried Les Rives du Lac, but they were also full (we hadn’t booked anywhere).
We were very pleased with where we stayed as it was much quieter, large pitches and the staff were great. With an ACSI discount we only paid €17/night for the van, 2 Adults and EHU.

Check out reviews on ukcampsite website. I would recommend L'Ideal - it has a great pool and you can watch the paragliders float down and land in the field adjoining the campsite. There is also Camping du Lac Bleu which is right on the lake - we went swimming there. It's a fabulous area with lots to do - would recommend a day trip to Chamonix to go on the mountain train to the Mer du Glace.

Thanks both! That's fab.
Did you both tackle the alpine roads to head further south? Did that some years back and we were all car sick after 3 hours of twists and turns Envy

Want to head to Toulon after Annecy but dreading the route.

We had a diversion over a mountain to reach Annecy (from the South Coast) and then more twisty mountainous routes to our next site at Mont Blanc. Worth it though, it was a beautiful drive.
