Which sleeping bag?

We are going camping in a tent in a few weeks to the south coast - we are 2 adults & 2 children (3yrs & 6yrs). I need to buy us sleeping bags or similar to go on our inflatable air mattresses.
I plan on getting some fleecy blankets/yoga matts to go under the air mattresses but what sleeping bags should I buy? Every time I find one that looks suitable I read a review stating the user was freezing at nighttime.
Can anyone recommend a specific sleeping bag or should I buy 'normal' summer sleeping bags and then layer up with socks etc? Thank you

I would get at least 3 season sleeping bags. It is easier to unzip than to warm up when cold.

I bought a sub 15 winter season. I think it was 1 degrees to -15, maybe more. I have never been cold. Dd slept in minus 10 and was fine. I use it in summer as I’m always cold. Go as warm as poss, you can always unzip. Probably one of my best ever purchases. I used to freeze at festivals and it ruined the weekend for me. Now I am very toasty and get a great nights sleep. I love my sleeping bag.

If the sleeping bags are too long for the DC stuff the bottom with a fleece.
Let them wear a track suit and warm socks to bed. They can take clothes off if too warm.

We have a 3 season double bag by vango and we used it camping to - 2 and still had to have it unzipped at times. We don't wear layers and layers to bed as both pretty warm people.

But definitely agree with get warmer than you think you need and wear layers if still cold.

Shower the kids before bed and get them to put Pj's on under clothes so they are nice and toasty getting into bed (remove clothes leave pj's on!). Getting into cold pj's then a cold bed not a good start.

A couple of nice blankets also handy to have on standby to throw over the bags if needed.

I have a 3 season pod bag and it's great, so roomy and warm at night.

I find the larger pod bags are warmer.
Don't wear too many clothes (ideally sleep in the buff) then your body heat circulates keeping you warm and cosy.
Wear a hat.
