Is this an okay tent?

We've never been camping as a family before. Two adults, one child and two teenagers who need their own space at times.
I can't see any reviews for this so looking for a bit of advice, thanks.

For the money I'd guess the hydrostatic head rating would be low, so while waterproof, a continuous heavy downpour could really put it to the test.
If you're not planning lots of long trips then I'd say go for it, but be prepared to put in the maintenance - re-sealing the seams etc.
Make sure you have somewhere to erect/hang it if it needs to dry properly before you pack away.
Also, check the dimensions against the pitch sizes of where you plan to camp, we had a very large tent and had to pay for two pitches. However, having all that room inside was fantastic on rainy days.

It looks a right pain to pitch, IMO.

Plus the living area does not have a sewn in groundsheet.

Thanks for the thoughts. Decided not to get that one. Have been looking at tunnel tents but think three separate bedroom areas would suit us best.
Any recommendations?

We had a Vango Seaton 800 for 4 years (just upgraded to a polycotton tent). It has 2 bedrooms at either end (vis a vis tunnel tent), so not sure if the bedrooms would be separate enough for you?

It's discontinued now but I am sure they make a similar model. My only complaint about it was the lack of a rain door.

I would say get the best you can afford. Don't discount tunnel tents - they are easy to put up (DH was able to put ours up on his own whilst I occupied DD or, at festivals, fetched gear from the car in a trolley with her 'helping').

Get separate tents I say.

If the teens are old enough could they have a small pop up tent each for sleeping in/retiring to. You'll get some good 'festival' deals at this time of year, and that leaves you open to do a tunnel tent (either with one big sub divided bedroom or one at each side).

I wouldn't consider one without a sewn in groundsheet. It's hard enough to keep everything clean as it is.

We have this decathlon one and love it. It's larger than you need but there are probably smaller versions on the decathlon site.

Be warned. The Hartford xxl is huge. And can take up to an hour to put up with over 60 pegs in total (dh once counted them all!)

Was a great tent but a hassle if you were looking for a quick weekend tent.

We sold that and went for a bell tent. Don’t regret it for one minute

It would drive me potty putting up a tent like that!

No. Looks really cheap quality. My oh also want double skinned or the inside will be wet when it rains.

Depends on what your budget is but I’ve got this one: www.decathlon.co.uk/xl-fb-air-seconds-family-63-id_8492639.html which is perfect for kids who need their own space as it’s got three pods/bedrooms (one is detachable if you don’t need all three on occasion) So quick and easy to put up and down!

Would teh teens not be better with their own tents? then they can mooch in their own space- it does depend on sites as some are more fussy about charging for pup tents and either way you coud get a smaller tent for the 2 adults/child that you could carry on using once the teenagers are not about as much!

Big tents are a pain - to put up /find sites for / pack down - they are often less stable as well especialy if cheap -

That tent is tiny if you see photo with human in it . Would not fit you all.
