Normandy - where to visit?

I know this technically is shorthaul ( might post this there too) but as mn camping people you always have good advice.
We're staying near arromanches and already planning the general D-day beach things, but does anywhere stand out that we need to visit? Thanks.

I don’t know that end of Normandie as well, but if it’s not too far Honfleur is a lovely little port town.

Mont St Michel is stunning.

Bayeux Tapestry is a must. There is a British war cemetery at Bayeux......immaculately kept, white tombstones. There is also a German war cemetery (can't remember exactly where) where the tombstones are grey.

not in but very very close - Mont Saint Michel! I've been there and it was so beautiful!

If you’re interested in military history, Pointe du Hoc is worth a visit, and Pegasus Bridge - we had a family friend who was in one of the first gliders to land there and we were very excited to see his photo in the museum there .

Rouen is beautiful. If you like the Impressionists, a visit to Honfleur in interesting. We often visit Le Touquet on a Saturday as there is a good market and lots of nice places for lunch.

Cancale on a Sunday for a stroll and oysters or joules marinieres for lunch.

We love the Swiss Normande in the autumn, for walking and foraging for chestnuts and walnuts and mushrooms.

Mont St Michel is well worth a visit but would recommend getting there either early or late to try and miss the coach trips.

The Normandy countryside is beautiful - orchards, fields of cows, streams - it’s a great place to get lost!

Mont St Michel is on the list already. We've done pegasus bridge before but will look at other suggestions. Thanks.

As well as what;s been mentioned already:

Buy the tickets for Mont St Michel online- I actually did it in the car on the way but you will save at least an hour queuing time.

There's the Citè de la Mer at Cherbourg which easily fills a day, bit of a dog leg but the drive there was quite pleasant.

The Maisy battery at Grandcamp Maisy- bit off the beaten track with other D-Day sites.

There is a delicious ice cream factory at Isigny sur Mer, you can buy ice creams from a little hut in a carpark next to it.
