So we took the plunge and got our first campervan last year. Husband has been in charge of converting it and it's now almost finished - just the pop up to be done next week.

It's now my job to start gathering all the interior things - cooking things, sleeping things, eating things, waterproof stuff for the kids etc etc. Please give me any tips/must haves you know including any tips on storage.

The pop up will have a padded floor so no need for airbeds. Kids will be up there. DH and I will be 'downstairs' on a rock and roll type bed.

Do you already camp? If so you can just use what you have
We don't really cook in our van and one of the most useful things we have got is a a pop up tent from decathlon ( base second) that we use to cook in and extra storage when we are out in van for the day.
Sadly discontinued now but think you can still find on ebay.
Don't forget a corkscrew!

Lakeland dish frying mats are very useful.

We use tefal Ingenio pans as they all nest and store inside the cooker.

Anti slip matting to line cupboards and shelves, and also between crockery to stop it rattling.

An awning to extend your living space?

We have 2 large stacking plastic boxes that hold all the hoses, cables, junk and they store nicely under the van on site. Wh8lst travelling they fit nicely behind seats by sliding door.

We also have a small cave tent (designed to store bikes in) that can hold chairs etc overnight and keep them dry If they can’t go under the van. Any small pop up tent could also do, but a risk you would be charged on a site for a tent that is not obviously storage only.

We have just come home from a weekend away, it’s great just having everything on board and just needing to throw foood in fridge and clothes in cupboards.
