Do French campsites tend to allow a smaller additional tent on a pitch?

Planning on camping in France in June. Have booked a pitch for a tent. Main tent is medium sized 4 berth family sized tent with awning.

Ideally we would like to pitch an additional small tipi style tent for 2 DC to sleep in. Otherwise we are going to be incredibly cramped.

I've emailed the campsite but had no response and have phoned but my French is too rubbish and their English isn't great either.

In my experience they do, occasionally there is a small extra charge for a pup tent but normally it is just extra charge for each child. Some sites the adult price is charged from quite young I think our 10 yr old was charged as an adult at one site last year and there is often a maximum of 6 people allowed at each unit. All the charges would be listed on their website in the tariff section.

we take our caravan to France and Spain, on the sites we go on it is very common for families, particularly those with older/more DC to have a least one small tent also on the pitch, i dont see why it would be an issue, as some of the pitches are massive and a lot of families who spend the whole summer there have many different tents/gazebo
