We're supposed to be caravanning but the forecast really isn't great Sad

Last Easter we had three nights away as the weather was so lovely!

Anyone braving it under canvas?

May half term is the earliest I’m prepared to go under canvas! Good luck though...

I'm doing 2 nights in Wales next week if that counts? Trying out my new tent with a 5 and a 6 year old......well, that's the plan anyway.

Aprilmightmemynewname · 28/03/2018 21:43

We are camping next weekend in some approved woods in Scotland!!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/03/2018 21:44

Not us this year. We camped the same week last year but this year is a bit too cold for me. If I had a caravan instead of the tent I’d be off though Smile

MegBusset · 28/03/2018 21:47

Yes that is the advantage of a caravan - we bought it for the heating really! I do miss 'proper' camping though. We went to the Peaks at Easter one year, I've never been so cold! Luckily it was pre-DC and very close to a warm pub.

We are going to a caravan Mon-Thus next week in South Devon, fingers crossed for some nice days at least....

Twoweekcruise · 28/03/2018 21:55

Yep we're taking out our caravan for the first time this year, Fri til Mon. Weather looks to be a bit better than today but the ground will be a little soggy! Luckily the site we've chosen has an indoor leisure pool so we will probably be in there all wkend! Love our caravan and it'll be all toasty at night as it's got great heating 😄

helpfulperson · 28/03/2018 22:37

Yup, I will be under canvas in the lake district with my hot water bottle, sleeping bag, duvet and nice onsite bar.

DancingLedge · 28/03/2018 22:40

Approved woods?
Is that like an approved school?

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 28/03/2018 23:03

Overnight temperatures here still hovering around -20. Campgrounds won’t open until mid May.

MegBusset · 29/03/2018 00:12

Moose I take it you're in Canada?

Helpful I love the Lakes, where are you going?

Hope we all get some sunshine!

We are camping for the week from tomorrow. First time using our new tent as well. Fingers crossed the weather holds up

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 30/03/2018 18:31

I am Meg. Temperatures have dropped further. Now -40 with the wind chill and an extreme cold warning in place. So much for Spring!

Aprilmightmemynewname · 30/03/2018 18:39

Dancing that would be a good idea! It's a proper camping site but they take all your stuff down into the woods which has a peat toilet and oil drum to burn wood for heat!!

MegBusset · 30/03/2018 20:32

Well, we're still at home. I have a rotten cold and it's pouring with rain! We might go just for a night on Sunday as the forecast is a little better.

MeanTangerine · 30/03/2018 20:35

We are in the Lakes too. Allegedly it will be dry tonight/tomorrow/Sunday but we can expect heavy snow Monday Confused

We camp like divas though - airbed, proper pillows, nearby pub...
