Looking to buy a new tent - does anyone have the Outwell birdland 3 or Rockwell 3?

I'm looking to buy a new tent, three man but with a biggish, full height living area. Needs to be easy to pitch for one person.
I think I've narrowed it down to these two outwell tents. The birdland is bigger, has some steel poles and is 5000 hydrostatic head fabric, £360.
The Rockwell is slightly smaller but still ok for one, all fibreglass poles and 4000 hydrostatic head fabric, last season model £230.

Has anyone used either of these tents? What do you think of them?
Or does anyone have any other suggestions for similar tents. I've discounted the khyam freelander as it doesn't have a built in groundsheet in the living area.

Thanks

I'd go for the Rockwell , I've seen people camping with the Nevada which is the same range. Smaller pack size, canvas will be lighter and easier to handle, money left over for other comforts!

I am getting fed up with heavyweight kitchen sink camping though so may be biased.

Thanks, will go for the Rockwell. I was concerned that it might not be as weatherproof as the birdland but from what I've read 4000hh is still pretty good.
The tent I've seen is £60 cheaper because it's the 2017 model so it's a good bargain!

I know what you mean about keeping things lightweight; I used to be happy with a backpacking tent but as I'm getting ever so slightly older, I'd love a tent I could walk into rather than crawl into!

I've had my eye on the Rockwell 3 for ages but I'm just waiting for DD to be a little bit older before our first camping trip.

Sorry, that's not helpful to you I know! Will you come back and report on how it goes?

Absolutely there's definitely a middle ground!

We had the Rockwell 3 and it was brilliant, the perfect size, easy to put up, could stand up straight in it... we have a LO now so we sold it and now have the Rockwell 5 which is just as fab but more roomy for 3 of us :)

We have the rockwell and it's great. I've put it up by myself before and it's stood up to some really bad weather too!

Thanks for the recommendations, I went ahead and bought the Rockwell. Can't wait for spring so I can try it out!!
