Our UK Camping forum has all the information you need on finding the right equipment for your tent or caravan.

Could you tell me your favourite campsites with fairly reliable August weather? E.g. France?

Thought I was getting all organised and ahead of the game sorting out next years camping trip.
Have just returned from Le Paradis in the Dordogne which was lovely but not perfect. Had decided on a riverside pitch at Soleil Plage (also Dordogne) but can't believe their riverside pitches are already all booked up! Reading TripAdvisor I'm not sure it's worth it without a premium pitch.

So any recommendations for your favourites? We have a large tent. Kids next year will be aged 3-10. Have read old threads about Les Valades but not sure if will be too big for the 3yo to be relaxing?

Privacy, a big pitch and a lovely view is important to us. We loved the Dordogne as an area and feel we've still got more to see there.

Things that made Le Paradis not perfect were;
Small and not very private pitch
Pool area a bit boring with no slides etc and limited for young children who can't swim, v hard to get a sunbed
Jetty onto the river rather than a beach which would have been better for the toddler and Easier to paddle in the river
Not being walking distance to a town/village
Lukewarm showers sometimes

Would love to hear your recommendations x

Afraid I don't have any suggestions, but I do have very similar requirements, so bumping your thread in the hope you get some responses!

I've been looking at les Valades again and I do really like the look of it, but the kids really enjoying going round on their bikes and it seems that might not work there.

I think les valades is more relaxing with a three year old than soleil plage as it's a much quieter site. You do need to decide where to be bad. Is day down near the lake and pool with a little one. It's a big hill top walk up to the top!
There's nowhere really within walking distance though.
