Is Slapton Sands windy?

Last year we camped at Sennen Cove and the wind shook the tent so violently all night that we had to sleep in the car for 2 nights.
Looking at South Devon now. Does anyone recommend Slapton or anywhere else nearby? Thanks.

We've just come back from Wales and had 3 very, very windy nights. What kind of tent did you have if you had to leave it and sleep in the car?

Hi ETAPM. It's a Quechua air seconds 4 man from Decathlon. The tent withstood the storm but the flapping noise was intolerable.

Just back from slapton- most fave campsite ever. We were there in a storm and rain it was 'flappy' but we were in a defender with roof top tents and the weather was awful one night however didn't keep us awake

We were at st Ives last year and came home early because the wind was so bad. Couldn't sleep with the tent flapping. I've been camping for over 30 years (since guides) and have never been beaten by the weather before. Hope you have a good time at slapton. Lovely area.
