Hi,
Does anyone know of any nice campsites good for families with young kids, preferably with beach close by? And possibly other things to do? Driving from SE London. Looking at Dorset/ Devon maybe near bigbury but open to other areas. We are fairly new to camping and finding it hard as so many sites to look at. Thanks!

We went to a campsite in Swanage called Woodyhyde which was quite nice. There was a little area where they had a tyre swing etc, loos were clean, the steam train from Swanage to Corfe castle goes past which is fun. They have EHU. Close to swanage for the beach... Corfe castle near by.

Scotts Farm in West Wittering is a great site near a fantastic beach.

Eewleaze farm is a pop up camping site in weymouth that is lovely.

There are lots of nice places in the new forest. Sandy balls is one on the top of my head.

Hayling island has some nice sites.

What kind of campsite do you like? Good amenities or basic? Do you want flushing loos/lovely showers or are you happy with compost and basic?

Fires or not?

Seabarn Farm at Fleet near Weymouth is lovely. If you want it a bit livelier, they have another campsite down the road with pool, restaurant & clubhouse. Not stayedatthe busier place, but Seabarn has amazing biews of Chesil beach. Its not too far from Weymouth which has a fantastic beach.

River Dart Country Park near Newton Abbot is fab. You can spend several days just on site. Ditto Woodlands near Dartmouth, although that is more of a theme park type place.

We've just come back from our third trip to Norden Farm campsite near Corfe Castle. We love it there.
