Recommend me your camper van.

I have a hankering for a camper van. Dh is a bad camper. We have a dandyfolding camper which is amazing be he finds too much hassle and not enough " comfort " ( don't know why apart from the bed being narrow it even has a heater ) .

I suspect the answer is not possible but is there a comfortable "car size" camper van - we've had galaxy size people carriers and they've been fine so anything that size or a bit bigger would be ok. It'll still need to be a city car.

Only needs to hold 2 at night. Would be nice if 3-4 seat belts in total though.

Haven't got one but I have heard very good things about the Mazda bongo. Plus it's the best name ever!

We have a Bongo. It's amazing, air bed in the main bit with the seats down, a drive away awning for living space. Best nights sleep ever, I sleep better in the Bongo than in bed at home.

I was a total non-camper until we got the Bongo, but I now love it.

We've got a VW T5 which has been converted into a camper - love it! It sleeps 4 and seats 5.

Much prefr having a van. This is our second VW had a T4 before

We drive our van round Sheffield. It's footprint is no bigger than a land rover discovery.

I have a t5 it's not much bigger than a galaxy. It fits in our garage and under the 2m height restrictions in car parks

Though I would say having a campervan hasn't helped my DHs camping issues, he's just as grumpy, the kids still don't sleep. I love it though, not having to pack the whole house up and being able to go camping every weekend with no fuss

Wow apologies for the size of the link 😉

We have a VW T5 California, I use it day to day, footprint is similar to large estate car, under 2 metre so goes in majority of car parks. Sleeps 4, just need to throw food and bedding for a quick weekend get away. Today we just popped bikes on the rack and went for a day in the forest, so lovely being able to make fresh cup of tea and fridge to keep things cool etc. With a T5 sized van you get a functional vehicle, which can be used day to day and used as a camper, with the size you do need to be organised but I quite like this as it makes me take less away which is less to sort out when we get home.

Loved our Bongo-pop top with bed for ds and we chucked a double futon mattress over the seats 'downstairs' for us. Drive away awning for living space. It was then used as our day to day vehicle.

We saw a Wildax Pulsar last Year and thought the perfect small van.
It's only 5m long but has kitchen shower & loo, and can sleep 4 if you use the roof bed!

Todayissunny · 10/07/2017 21:33

We have vw T6. Without the kitChen as we use it as our main car. Absolutely love driving it.

Sleeps 4. Haven't used it for sleeping in yet but roof bed seems very comfy.

We have a converted Vauxhall vivaro. It's a van but same size as a people-carrier, firs in a normal car park space. Love it!
