Les Valades info please!!

HI

for all those who have been to Les Valades in the Dordogne can you please let me know if there is any (low key) entertainment in the evening eg campfires etc. Certainly not looking for discos etc just maybe something once / twice a week

also are there any good restaurants nearby or villages with fetes / evening or day markets. We just like this type of thing as part of exploring France

We went a few years ago so they may have changed it. In the evening, the little club runs for an hour for children most nights- from memory they have something like bingo, disco, lantern walk. For adults, they alternate fortnightly on a Thursday with buffet down at the lake and a singer/disco. All done by 11pm, so no late night noise and it's rather sociable. On a Wednesday, we went to a food fair in Belves, where you can buy a variety of different food from stalls and then sit and eat at picnic tables in the square.

We went two years ago. The campfires we were expecting did not happen - apparently someone hasn't put one or earlier in the season or something.
There were no buffets or bbqs either.
We went to some markets with food fairs but there weren't any restaurants particularly within walking distance iirc.
Loved the site though.
