Have I made a massive tent buying error? Polycotton vs polyester

So. We are off to Croatia in August and have bought a Vango Airbeam Edoras 600XL. Put it up in the garden before and OMG it was baking inside! I am really worried now that I should have spent the extra on polycotton and gone for the Vango Illusion instead. We needed 3 bedrooms as 3 kids and the oldest is 10 now so taking up more space and wanted inflatable as we are going to be touring a bit on the way there and back so a few overnight stops. The Edoras looked to be the one and it was mega easy to put up but so hot!! With everything sewn in I don't see how you could ever get a breeze going through, especially in the bedrooms. Should I grovel and see if I could return it and swap it or is it really not that big a deal? Help!

Well, all the flysheet doors have a mesh screen so you could just use mesh only, and the bedroom inner has ventilation panels. Does the bedroom inner have a mesh door option? Most mid - high spec Vango tents do. And you could leave the inner doors unzipped a bit at the top.

Any kind of tent in Croatia will be hot.

But there are other threads on this board saying polycotton are cooler.

Hmmm.

We do not spend any time sitting inside our tent. Everything except sleeping happens outside. So during the day a tarp for shade, and your tent could be as hot as you like.

Would you exchange the tent at the same shop! What does their returns policy say?

Dh is not happy, but more for the hassle of it than the extra money.

Have bought a Vango TC 800XL and got a really good deal on it. He will thank me if the weather is as hot as this. Maybe.
