Camping Light - possible with two small dc?

We wont be arriving to the site til about 6/6.30pm and the dc are 2 and 5. Only staying two nights so am hoping to travel as light as possible. Can I get away with:-

*four SIMS rolled out in the bedroom (Vango Artemis 400) atop fleece blankets with more blankets/duvets on top. Pillows.
*a big plastic lidded tub full of food stuffs with a cool box for perishables
*couple of torches, one of those mini gas hobs, four camping chairs, potty for dcs night wees
*two outfits each plus layers. Plus pjs and crocs. Wooly hats.
*smallish bag of toys

Planning on letting the kids stay up later and all go to bed together (the 2yos first time, the 5yos second time camping).

We are going with other more seasoned campers, and there seems to be lots to do on the site.

bumping, and watching with interest as I'm also keen on a light approach...

Admittedly now I popped on here in the hope of camping lantern porn but alas Grin

Your list sounds perfect...as you say, you'll be in the company of seasoned campers so you won't go short on anything. Even if you do then put it down to part of the camping experience...enjoy!

Saucepan/kettle/frying pan and utensils? Hot water bottle?

GlitterRollerSkate · 15/05/2017 13:31

5l water bottle (fill up in site) with a head torch strapped to it makes an excellent lamp. My husband was well impressed with me during the last power cut we had!

Definitely possble. I have ready packed boxes that I can sling in the car at a moments notice. In them are:
Bag1: fleece blankets, picnic blankets, 3x5cm sims, termals, hats, hot water bottles
Bag2: PJs, clothes (inc one set spare in sealed plastc bag for emergencies only!), loads of socks, waterproofs.
Wellies / crocs (depends on the weather)
Sleeping bags
Small kitchen box: pocket rocket stove, pans, cutlery, knives, small chopping board, matches, glow sticks, anti bac wipes
Big box: kettle, cups, plates, cast iron pan (for on the fire), juice, matches,

Then we have a chair each and a small table for cooking and prep. I also usually put the fire pit and tripod in.

The kids will get muddy and quite possibly pretty wet so I'd say more clothes for them. Otherwise sounds fine.
