Thinking of here - has anyone been? Can you recommend any particular places to go / avoid?

The whole area is beautiful but Looe is heaving in the summer. It's like London in rush hour. I wouldn't go there again in high season but would happily go at some other time.

Mmm I thought that might be the case Sad

Looe is lovely but it does get a bit like St Ives in summer.
Have you looked at Hayle/Gwithian campsites?
There's so much beach it never gets full.
Also, the Lizard area is nice.
I live down here and have camped all over.

I've never been to Cornwall so don't know what you mean by its like st over? It's good to know that the beaches never get crammed.

Cornwall in the summer is very busy. Most places I've been to are manageable busy but some are beyond crazy busy. Looe is one of the latter I'm afraid. I liked Padstow, much more bearable numbers.

Do you have a site to stay at? I recommend Camping Caradon (check when booking if bus still calls there).

Yes it's busy in summer but so are alk family parts of Cornwall worth visiting.

Yes we've provisionally booked a site next to the parkdean one. All the benefits of their facilities, but in a quiet field!
