What time to let them dc out?

Hello,

Currently camping for the first time this year (in fact it's only our third time ever) but wondering what the general consensus is regarding what time the children are allowed out of the tent/to make a bit more noise?

Yesterday I let them out at 9, but did get a disgruntled look from the cyclists who got here late the night before. It's Sunday today so I'm even more aware - I've kept them in til now but they're chomping at the bit! Thank god for the iPad- how people kept them quiet before the invention of iPads is a mystery to me!

What time do you let dc out? What's usual? There are no other children here so I can't take my lead from them- in fact there are only four tents here at all:)

I think 9 is late tbh. Camping is an outdoor activity! Let the poor things run free!

Any time after 8am is good as long as they're not too bad, ie kicking balls and shouting.
We've just got back from a week in wensleydale and the lambs using the tents as climbing frames at 6am took away any problems of kids been up too early!!

8 so long as they aren't shouting. Camping is an early rising activity, it's the best part of the day.

I let mine out at 8 as long as they are quiet. EG. no football or running around screeching.

8 is fine!

I think children need to be encouraged into good camping etiquette at any time of day: balls away from other people's tents and chairs, if you have to step over someone's guy ropes you are too close to their tent.

Apart from that, let them run free!

Even 8 seems late to me!! Mine are always awake at 6 when camping. One of the reasons I'm not keen!

Thanks! They don't play football as I don't like it on campsites, so that's no problem, and they aren't screamers.

My dc wake at 6 first day but after that they are worn out so wake later thankfully.

I'll stick to 9 then- even on Sundays

It's camping. In a field. 8 is fine.
