Hi
We have been to dordogne several times in summer holidays, we love it. Am contemplating going for a week in May half term - has anyone done this?? Is it worth the drive for warmer weather?? Is everything open?? Thanks!!

Hi Sam,

We wondered the same and in the end decided to go at the end of the summer holidays when we knew everything would be open. We stayed near Sarlat a couple of years ago and are going back this year, I follow the campsite on Facebook and I remember last May half term the weather looked glorious. No guarantees though in that part of France. The French aren't on holiday in May so some of the touristy things might be on low season hours.

When DD was small we drove to near Cognac for a week's holiday and in all honesty, it felt a bit far just for the week. That might just be us though. Have you looked at the likes of Ryanair for flights, might be cheaper in May than driving.

It's still just under 6 months to our holiday, such a long way off!
