Hi Sheryl I can't help very directly as I haven't camped for years, but I live in Scotland and lots of people I know go to Loch Lomond camping. I found a website here but I can't vouch for it personally. It looks nice though!

There are some campsites need St Andrews that a friend said were good, and St Andrews is a wonderful place. Not unspoiled beauty tho.

Take care going to the West coast in the summer because of the midges, they will eat you alive!

Thanx for the info, dh is used to me being on parent sites. we are going to ayr first and then on to melvich but dh says there is just a feild and i'm worried that the kids will get bored even though we are taking a portable dvd player. so much for the old style camping lol
dh likes his luxeries now.

We went to a brilliant camp site years ago in Fort William called Glen Nevis. Superb facilities, it was clean, the owners were friendly and helpful and the views were breathtaking. I would highly recommend it.

Oh Ayr has got the best beachside park I have ever seen, complete with a cafe for tired parents, you'll have a great time, we did!

Hi Sheryl

We just took delivery of a new tent on Tuesday and it's rained ever since so can't get it up in the back garden

One of our fav places is Glemore campsite near Aviemore. It is right on Loch Morlich and has lots of watersport things. There is also a beach. Very safe. Lots of bike trails with no cars, walking etc.

here

Will second Glen Nevis campsite too. Really lovely.
