We're planning a mammoth camping holiday this year and I'm looking for a plan! I quite fancy 5-6 days on Noirmoutiere but we're otherwise open to suggestions. Dover Calais prob.

Any advice?!

Are you going in the school holidays?

Following as we are camping for a month in June. So excited!

I'd go further south for better weather...:)
here was good, clean walking distance to lovely small town - is also near to Arles and Avignon - the fiesta mid Aug in St Remy goes on for whole weekend...and very traditional to the area - Camargue horses etc

We're doing three weeks with our caravan this summer, so I'm following the suggestions with interest.

One of our favourite ever holidays was in the Ardeche and we're dithering over whether to go back, or try somewhere completely different. Our kids love the river.

We've stayed near Annecy twice and loved it.

Another site we'd like to re-visit is La Pecheurs, near Roqubrune Sur Argens (Sp?), in the South.

We enjoyed cycling around the Beziers area, and the beaches are natural, with great waves.

Loved the Vendee, Normandy, Paris...

I love camping in France!

We've been to many regions of France. Love the dordogne but not the crowds. It rained when we went to the jura Sad Loire Valley fab - esp chateau de chambord. Our favourite place without doubt is the auvergne region in the central massif. You get the best of both worlds - countryside and mountains. Plus stay on a site like the one we did with a lake and you get a beach tooGrin

Also, not in France but Luxembourg is beautiful.
