camping in Dorset - recommendations please

Looking for a site in Dorset for the first week of August (so busy time!). Looking for somewhere near Lyme REgis and Charmouth for fossil hunting and would like to be near a beach but not essential. Prefer a smaller friendly site to a large commercial one. Somewhere good for kids and dogs and be nice to have a shop selling local stuff.

Any suggestions...........

the opub is great
beach a stones throw ( but is shingle) and all you can hear at nght is the waves
no noise ata all
lovely ice cream hut and fab fish retuarant ar bridport

theres a book on fossils at this spot if you googel "seatown"!
