Eurocamp novices.

Hi. Looking at having a eurocamp holiday late June this year, just changed our minds from a dull AI in Spain.
One previous eurocamp style holiday, thought it was great but weather terrible (beginning of June, Normandy)

There's 3 of us, me, him and our 3 year old (will be almost 4 at time of holiday)

Looked at website and currently have choice paralysis!
We like, good weather, getting out, eating out, cooking and lazy days. Beach/pools/slides and a kids club that caters for a 3 year old a definite bonus, and preferable.

We'd most likely fly and hire a car and we'd prefer France or Italy.

Please help!

I suspect you can't go wrong, as long as you go far enough south for the weather (isn't the rule to go south of the loire in france for more 'guaranteed' weather?). I would say if you read the spec of a suitably located place and it meets your criteria it'll be good.

If kids club is a deal breaker I'd start there - look at the various UK operators and see if any operate a club you can leave a 3yo. - I'm no sure you'll find one, but some are well set up with activities for you to stay and play.

Then find a site that's listed as suitable for fly-drive. Maybe the western med?

Good childrens pool, little slides etc.

We've just booked a Eurocamp holiday in La Baume with stopovers in Burgandy.

We go every year - you can't really go wrong. Choose an area and then do a campsite search - there are loads to choose from. We are going to the Loire this year (we can drive there in a day). Last year we went to the Dordogne (with stopover). Next year it will be the Ardeche or Vendee. So far, the Alps has been my favourite but we try and go to a different region each year.

Averybighouse - what was Le baume like if you have already been? We have also booked to go but just want some real experience. Any good tips? Thanks

Lots of fab sites...Loire is lovely but only 'warm' (try chambord site). In Brittany we enjoyed Chateau galilee, in vendee we love pin parasol and ANY site in dordogne is fabulous!! All have pools, slides, kids stuff, bar, shop etc!! Always an easy family holiday!!

I would go for Tuscany. I've actually worked on sites around there but so long ago I wouldn't know which are good nowadays. But Tuscany is pure paradise in my eyes.

Le bois de valmarie in South of France not far from Spanish border. Fly to perpignan or girona with ryanair. Fabulous campsite for young kids, not too noisy. Lifestyle are cheaper than euro camp. Or venetian riviera fly to Venice treviso. Sant Angelo campsite is great, bit more to do.

All lovely sites and easy transfers from the airport. Weather usually hot. Might have the odd day of rain.

Marina di Venezia. Lovely large clean site with lots of options for eating. Huge beach and lots of play areas for children. Easy to get to from Venice Marco Polo or Treviso airport.

Nice to take a boat to Venice for the day too.

I've been many times. Often a lot of non British on site, danish, German etc which makes it fun.

I recommend the Vende region of France - the weather is better there than Brittany and Normandy and there are lots of great sites with loads of facilities.
Are you set wanting to stay in tent or mobile home?

We've been to about 20 sites now and this is the best by far. Has everything you want and more.
