Hi I have just booked up to stay here but a little worried about it not having hot water in this particular field. Ive got a dd2. Will we be able to use the fully equipped shower blocks in other fields?

It is at the very top of the site and is open only in the summer.
Pluses are that it is beautiful and you still get to access all the fab amenities, but for less money.
Minuses are that the decent loos and showers are a bit of a stroll away as are the pool and bar etc.

But we can still use them? Don't mind a bit of a walk I just didn't want to give myself and littleone a freezng coldshower each night.

Yeah, you can use any of them and they are all lovely. Have a great time. May well see you there!I can higjly recommend the clay workshops for the kids. And all the walks. We even got to hold baby hedgehogs last time!

I solve this problem by rarely showering when I'm cmaping. Also you can take a tub, fill it with water, warm it in the sun and wash a two year old in it easily. I tub wash instead when camping.

Sandy Balls is great but the temptation is to stay in the encampment and do all the stuff which is so readily available. It's much better to get out into the forest and climb the oaks and chill with the ponies. Take a picnic and go to the surrounding woodland. Find an old oak to sit in

God I love the forest. I may make S'Balls plans myself.

Enjoy.

In my non Ray Mears moments I quite like the look of those log cabins. Would be lovely in winter I think.

Sandy balls - snort

spudmasher · 13/02/2007 15:52

You are not the only one Liesel! The last time we went there I shut the car keys in the car like a right muppet. On calling Green Flag the phone lady thought I was taking the P* and refused to send someone out. Took me ages to convince her. Apparently it has something to do with rock formations particular to the New Forest....{honk}
