Reliable air beds

Looking for tips on single air beds that are suitable for camping and as use for guests in the house. We've had eurohike, which actually were quite comfy, but recently have started to deflate overnight.

Want them robust and don't mind spending a bit more to get really good ones so they are properly comfortable (can you get them slightly padded?) and don't deflate.

The only airbed I have ever been comfortable on has been the older rubber ones. We have one and I prefer to take it rather than my SIM (which is a bit shit to be honest but can't afford a 10cm just yet).

They are quite heavy though so not ideal unless you are car camping.

Check the size before you buy as well. We bought quite an expensive Vango single air bed (assuming as you would that it would be proper single size) and it was so narrow it was ridiculous, would have only been of use for a toddler/small child.

We've given up on air beds and swapped to camp beds instead.

I've just accepted that they only last 2 or 3 camps. I don't camp very often though so I replace them yearly. It's very wasteful though, I know.

Storage space at home is an issue, hence blow up beds over camp beds. And if we camped, it would be car camping, so being a bit more heavy or slightly bulkier than a regular air bed isn't a problem.

As a range, the Intex brand are very good and if you shop around you can usually find them on offer somewhere.

I wonder if by camp beds previous posters mean army beds? Anyway I highly recommend them. Got two because I was sick of constantly replacing burst airbeds. Fold up tiny (as small as an air bed) and very very sturdy / robust. We can now assemble them in 5 although I admit the first few times were challenging. The tip is to pop the legs in in the holes nearest to you and reach over and pop the corresponding end in, leg by leg. Can add a thin sim on top but tbh I managed fine without

A thick 10/15cm sim is honestly the way to go.... Never going to worry about airbeds deflating again!!
