Caravan Bunk Beds and Babies

I have a 5month old son, and also a Caravan. (98 Lunar Eclipse)

Does anyone have any good suggestions of either Travel Cots that will fit on a Caravan bunk bed, or ideas of how to adapt a caravan bunk bed to fit a baby under 12 months old so he can sleep safely?

I cant be the only one whos faced this obstacle!

I the caravan we have stayed in you get bars that you can afix to the bed to make it into a cot, have you asked the manufactorer if they do any such thing?

Our van is an older version 4 berth which has the bunks across the width of the back of the van. DD (3 goes in the top with the standard safety barrier and DS (2) goes on the bottom. I get a big double sheet and tuck it under the mattress of the top bunk and then bring it right down and tuck it under the bottom mattress. This works quite well (at least it did last year but now DS is a bit more mobile he may thrash his way out but I'm sure it would be fine for a 5 month old.

My niece had her DD in the bottom bunk of their 5 berth and she had made a lee cloth type of thing to keep her in.

You can also get a kind of pop up travel cot that I think is much smaller than a traditional play-pen style travel cot. I don't know how high up they 'pop' though!

I had a pop up cot, TBH I only ever used it once and would only feel safe if it was placed on the floor. When I caravanned with my parents in a 4 berth, my two brothers were in the bunks and I slept on a mattress on the floor from aged 0 until about aged 7

Someone gave us an old fashioned carrycot and we used that on the floor for all 3 dds until they were about a year old. What about a moses basket or is he too big?
