Try a little summer camping weekend with some of you experts.

How about a camping meet-up during the school summer holidays in South Wales?(that is the Wales nearer London, isn't it? Geography is not a strong point. )

I'd be up for that. I'd bring the two bigger Bubble Boys and leave the 2 littlies with Mr Bubble.

Any takers?

Ooh, a cautious 'me too' from ginge. No idea if it will be practical though with a 3 month old baby.
I love the Forest of Dean
Maybe we could book a cottage but camp in spirit, and join in the festivities down in the woods.

Gingerbear · 01/12/2006 21:30

Unless I hire a teepee and turn into an earth mother.....

lapinrose · 01/12/2006 21:31

ooh yes please!

bauble99 · 01/12/2006 21:33

Sounds fantastic, and even closer to Laaarndan!

Let's get cracking the, shall we?

Shall I find out how much etc. ? We'll need to pay some kind of deposit, I expect. And what date?

We need to do some recruiting over the next few days/weeks. Keep this bumped. XX

Laaarndan - is that in North or South Wales B?
We need Sally's expert assistance on location of suitable camp site I reckon.
What a fine seed of an idea you have planted.

what about here?

bauble99 · 01/12/2006 21:49

SS. Don't start confusing me with talk of 'electric hook ups!

I'm just coming to terms with the whole idea of a butt full of ants.

It doesn't need to be a week end for me if it's during the school holidays. Somewhere with showers etc would be preferable.

GB. That looks lovely.

Lots of creature comforts.

Do you think we could camp with a 3 month old baby though??
(I haven't camped in UK for 15 yrs, last time was in a 2 man tent in the Lakes, and it was more of a place to crash after lots of beer and pub food after a long days walking than a family holiday)
I don't mind the great outdoors, but wonder if a baby will?

It could go either way TBH, Ginge. Would either be great or a bloomin' nightmare.

Bring DH along and we'll give him and DB a tent and a bottle (each )

I am definitely up for this.

My big boys will love it and they're old enough to enjoy it, too. Plus it will be something reasonably cheap to do during the long summer holidays. No way can we afford a holiday for all of us this year

I might even bring my guitar.

I love Ross on Wye and Symmond's Yat. So beautiful. Passed through in May this year on the way back home from Cardiff and I said we must go back and visit - Peregrines there, and canoes.

Gingerbear · 01/12/2006 22:11

Doesn't do groups - so no Bawdy late night shenanigans like last summer then Sally huh?

GB. Doward Park says that is doesn'taccept bookings of more than 3 pitches. Do you think we'd just need to use different names each booking 3?

How about if we pretended that we didn't know each other when we arrived and just 'got on' with our new neighbours?

Assuming we weren't too rowdy, wouldn't that work?
