18mo old sleeping in campervan?

Going away in the van this weekend. Overnight temp around 8-10deg. (Scotland).
18mo old ds sleeps downstairs in a travel cot alone - us in the roof bed - should we buy him a proper padded sleeping bag? At home he sleeps in baby sleeping bags but we've only got 1tog bags in his current size.
Do we put him in layers of trackie bottoms / fleece top in his thin bag?
Or buy a padded bag from go outdoors on sat morning?

We're in good quality 4 seasons bags so I feel ds really ought to be too???

What do you think?

Ds doesn't have pram suits anymore.
He has salopettes from skiing in March but they wouldn't be comfy for sleeping.

I should buy a bag shouldn't I? And put him in a warm fleece in case he pulls his arms out?

Personally I'd have a terrible night sleep wondering if he was cold or the blanket had rolled off or what ever. Might be worth investing in a good bag just for the peace of mind. When mine was little (1 year) she was in vest, long sleeved sleep suit, fleecy top, inside a baby sleeping bag from home and then inside a Bugaboo thick and cosy slipping bag type thing from the pushchair (what are they called - foot muff?). But maybe I was a little paranoid and that was in a tent not a camper van.

Actually that's a great idea!! We have a cost four muff on our bike trailer! It'd be ideal!

And actually we probably should take it out of the trailer now he's in muddy wellies most of the time.

Sounds perfect and makes it nice and cosy to lie on too! Aww, making me remember my little one all wrapped up. Happy camping!

I always found that with 2 adults breathing our campervan got really warm at night. But yes probably get an extra sleeping bag - TK Maxx has them for a reasonable price.
