Staying in a mobile home, is it ever worth booking directly or is it better to go with Eurocamp/Canvas? Any specific recommendations with 2 kids aged 8 and 11?

I always book directly. However, there are advantages to Eurocamp:

  • You don't have to pay a deposit on arrival at the campsite (have usually had this in French campsites)
  • Although you are asked to tidy and clean before leaving, you don't have to wait around for an 'inspection'
  • They provide kettles and UK plug sockets

Personally I've never found these advantages enough to warrant the extra money you have to pay for Eurocamp, but some may.

Thanks friendly.

If doing the long sea crossings, you may get a better rate booking through eurocamp than direct with Brittany ferries, which cancels out any saving.

If you want kids clubs, Canvas are good. We've been several times to this site with them.

which site do you mean crocky?

try the smaller companies too. we had a great time with matthews. our caravan was much bigger than the eurocamp one for the same price.

I didn't even realise there were other companies, never heard of Matthews actually! Thanks.

welcome :)
i found out about them on here
we were happy with them and all the eurocamp people envied our massive caravan Grin it was a bit older than the eurocamp ones but clean and tidy
