Airbed for toddler recommendations

Hello
I need to chose an airbed for my 2 year old, one with the raised sides and ultimately removable inner part. I have one for my 4 year old which he is ridiculously attached to but it's enormous and if we buy another I'm not sure that all three beds (including our foam mattress) will fit in the tent bedroom. However all the reviews on Amazon are so varied that I can't chose.

Any words of wisdom? I don't want a ready bed. I quite like the idea of a SIM enclosed within a sleeping bag but it feels a bit mean having a SIM for her when we are all on foam beds or huge boat-like air beds, plus is she too young for a sleeping bag?

Thanks in advance.

Watching with interest!

Have you tried a SIM? You may find your DD feeling sorry for you in your air boat! Before I tried one I had no idea that that level of comfort was possible in a tent.

I first put DS in the sleeping bag/SIM combo when he was 2.5 but I guess it depends on the child and you will know best how yours sleeps. If you were worried about losing them in the length of the bag you could fold any worrying excess under the SIM (even more insulation!).

We got our youngest a child size sim from alpkit, she loves it, it's as thick as an adult one and she has a toddler size mummy sleeping bag

We have SIMs from Go Outdoors, I think their own brand is Hi Gear. They have slightly raised sides which prevents the kids rolling off.

Thanks all. We do own a few different SIMs from our hiking days but our foam mattress is much superior as it's from our camper van days.

Hmmm, so that tip from Hillbilly could be very useful. Just need to work out if I can get the SIM into a mummy sleeping bag or find a combo that works. I think I might ditch ds's airbed and do this for both of them as they are at that age where EVERYTHING has to be the same, full stop, otherwise we have ridiculous tantrums.

Cheers.

I've a small one still boxed in my attic. It's flock and has a raised border all around.
I can send it to you if you make a donation to the smile train. (Cleft repairs in third world country's)

I just use the cot mattress now she is in a bed.

all mine migrated round the tent when asleep at that age. They had SIMs and grown up sleeping bags from about age 2 - 3 (we took a little one for medium boy but he was having none of it).
i put smallest girl on an airbed when she was tiny and she felt so cold. Moved her in between me and DH (the tent heater) and she was fine.

I bought a Kampa airbed in the end because I had an Amazon voucher to use also, I really needed to get something that looked similar to DS's otherwise there would be a tantrum or 10. I suspect she will end up in between us or some such or I will end up with legs hanging over the end and she will be curled up with Daddy on the foam.

Anyway, now ready for camping, bring it on (not this weekend however!)
