Helinox One Chairs

We're planning our first family camping trip to Les Valades and La Garangeoire in August and just starting to gather kit! Very excited at prospect of lovely camping goodies, however, space is at a premium ... Has anyone got the above chairs and are they worth it? Was mainly concerned about whether they'd be suitable for eating at a table? (And the cost tbh ...). Thanks

We have two - mine was a gift, and I consider it to be about the best gift and best bit of luxury camping kit I own. It also gets used for a lot more than just camping - small enough to carry on walks etc. neither of us it huge, and we both find them pretty comfy ... especially for the size.
They are low - but put us at same height as kids for eating at a low table. Would love helinox table ... But we have a lafuma louisiane table (bought from outdoorxl.nl when we were there last year). A small folding table from go outdoors also works for just kids.
if cost is an issue, have you seen the cheaper knock-off ones from China on eBay? Can't vouch for them, but at more like £25 might be worth a shot? Search for 'portable folding chair camping hiking fishing'. Feel free to ask if there's anything else you need to know.

Many thanks for the info, just need to weigh up the pros and cons of the low level. Pack up so small though, so very tempting. We've got to pretty much start from scratch so keen to get it right first time, she says v optimistically! DH is v into motorbikes as well, so would be gd for him to take away on his jaunts.

I would buy one if I was hiking or walking and size and weight were priorities, but for camping in a car? No cup holder, no arm rest for resting your elbow on when reading? Are they good lounging chairs? They are v expensive

They're not all that easy on the eye are they? You need arm rests for family type camping where you might spend a lot of time chilling at the campsite.

Thanks. Yep, maybe leave them to DH and his motorbike trips ... Any other comfy and compact camping chair recommendations? I saw the hi gear Vegas chairs rec on another thread, but the website doesn't give the pack size.

I wouldn't say that they ate the best for eating at a table... They are comfy and super small though..

Having spent years in regular camping chairs we invested in a couple recently which are padded and have high backs and they are a revelation. So nice to have something to rest your head on!

However, as they are bigger, they have larger pack sizes too so it is a compromise.

Any chance of a link? or to something similar. I'm on the look out for new camping chairs but haven't yet seen anything I like.
