Anyone camped at Duinrell?

We went a couple of years ago but stayed in mobile home. Considering now a pitch instead and wondering if anyone had any advice about preferred location / facilities / noise?

Thanks

Hi. We have been both in a Eurocamp mobile home and in our own tent. We deliberately chose the pitch probably the furthest away from the theme park when we camped! I think it was called the Eikenveld. We chose a pitch so far away that we were on the boundary of the campsite! It was a wooded area and felt really far away from all the hustle and bustle of the main area which was great. There was a toilet/shower block a few minutes walk away. We had our bikes with us, so used them to cycle to the shop/pool etc. Would definitely choose that area of the site again - you've made me want to go again!

Ooh thank you. Was that the woodland area? Worried about mosquitos - do you remember that being a problem? Thank you!

No mosquito problem at all! The only slight disadvantage I can remember was that it was so woodlandy and tree covered, that it didn't get much sun on the pitch we chose. If we went again, I'd probably move a few rows further in. I'll have a look on the plan of campsite and tell you which pitch we had and which might be sunnier!

Yes - we camped a few years ago and were actually back there on a day visit 2 days ago.

Camping was fine. We had a small area - about 10 tents. No real issues.

Any recommendations for area Orlando if you can remember? I was thinking quiet area as Will said, but don't want to be in the shade (praying for sunny weather!). Thanks both!

Looking at map now but can't remember. We took our tent so that gave us limited choice. We did hire out a go kart for a few days and sped round - I was looking at other places to camp.

Do love Holland though. We've just had a long weekend in Den Haag and took the bus up to Duinrell. Better now DS is bigger and less scared Grin

Just looking at the site map now Mandy! We had pitch 253 in Eikenveld. If we went again, I'd probably book something like 229/223 as it would be less tree covered and nearer the loos! It's all very quiet out that part of the campsite though.

I have stayed in the Romantisch kamp twice. Wash block v outdated and smelly and was very noisy until the early hours every night, but I suspect that was just the luck of the draw of where the inconsiderate people happened to be.
