Camp bestival camping plus

We're going to Camp Bestival for the first time this year and planning to go for camping plus.
Our family tent is 7m long and the pitch sizes are also 7m long!
I suspect we're going to either need 2 pitches or a smaller tent...can any seasoned camp bestivallers tell me how they've got on in camping plus with big tents?
Or, would we be better off getting there early on Thursday and heading for the normal camping area? I do like the idea of the designated loos and showers in camping plus though.

I have never been, but don't you have to carry / trolley all your gear to your pitch? Can you carry a 7m tent plus gear?

Not too worried about that tbh...Dh, me and 2 boys plus we'll hire a trolley. It's more whether the tent will actually fit in the space.

Dh is obsessively looking at new, smaller tents. I suspect he's looking for an excuse to buy...

We've been to every camp b, except last year but never done camping plus. If you get there early on Thursday, you will get a decent plot in normal camping. I would emphasise the early part as the camping fields are on some horrendous hills - but there are flat bits. Last time we went it seemed as though everyone had gone camping + which meant more room in general camping. Lots of folks moaning about facilities and pitch sizes but they could well have improved it last year. Be prepared for a big schlep from car to camp - I think that stands wherever you camp. Have fun!
