Would it actually work? And would many people go? And when would it be?

Maybe book an 'events field' at a campsite or something?

In the school holidays? Friday and Saturday night? Maybe Thursday or Sunday too?

I think it would be brilliant and, yes, a separate field in a campsite is a good idea. One which allows fires (of course) but maybe also has a place for a central fire that everyone could socialise round. The only problem is where to hold it given how widespread MNers are. Maybe the midlands somewhere?

Or maybe gauge who is interested first and work out location then based on where most people live (assuming there isn't an even spread)?

As for when, what about the August bank holiday? I'd say mid-September for something to look forward to once the schools are back but if there is going to be a lot of travelling involved, the extra flexibility of being off school and having a day off work anyway might be useful.

Sounds ace
If you're talking Midlands Umberslade farm, Tanworth in Arden is fab, humongous field, hardly anyone uses, access to play barn and park when farm closed, no EHU but surely no need for two days?

Been here before. The field holds up to 250 tents. Free access to the country park. Don't think there's loos in the field so would have to hire some. Only a short drive to the sights of Reading. Not very Midlands though. Something like it would be good if enough people want to come.
