How do you organise your camping stuff?

Stuff in the loft, stuff in the shed, stuff in the pantry, tent in the dining room! Thin aluminium rod in our wardrobe, I just KNOW something essential is going to be forgotten at home at some point! The only thing I have waxed is the kitchen stuff, all in an outwell kitchen holdall and all duplicate from what i had in the kitchen anyway, so just add a frying pan and we're good to go. Please share how and where you store your camping stuff (fully expect the ceiling to collapse on our heads any day with all the cr*p in the loft space!)

Thanks!

Pretty much the same as you. It's mostly stuffed in the garage, in the loft, or in the shed.
We always remember the main things - sleeping bags, stove, table and chairs, camping gaz, lights, crockery and cutlery. If we forget anything else it doesn't matter for a weekend. We manage with out. For longer, European excursions I make lots of lists in the lead up to the grand departure.

We keep our's in the garage. The tent and the sleeping bags are in a wardrobe inside the garage. The air beds in a plastic storage box and all the other bits and bobs ( bbq , toilet, table and chairs , kitchen stuff etc) are all in the trailer ready to go.

The magic list ensures everything gets remembered. I add to it each trip :)

Spreadsheets and lists!

Most of ours is kept downstairs in utility room, but we do have a few pieces scattered elsewhere. I have a massive list, compiled over several years which includes also abroad things to remember as a word document. Each trip I print one out to use as a reminder so it's a case of collecting things.

We also have kitchen boxes (2) which would be generally be self sufficient- for longer trips I do add an extra knife etc. At the beginning of the season I tend to check through these and add kitchen roll, wipes etc as needed which stay there until September.

Most stuff is stored in lidded plastic storage boxes, and we use one which has all our essential bits in- spare gas, axe etc which goes all the time. It's just a case of checking through this briefly, topping any available space up with tins and placing in car. (Or so I think, my DH thinks otherwise Wink ) It tends to stay in the boot when we're on site.

Most is in the cellar. We have three fairly large bags; one with cooking / cutlery/ crockery, one with all other domestic stuff - dustpan, washing line, etc, and one with two double airbeds plus pump. All are kept packed ready to go. Plus tent, sleeping bags, chairs and table, gas stove and camp kitchen.

Our storage is fine, it's getting it all in the damn car that is our problem;(

Tent, sleeping bags, airbeds and tarp are all stuffed under my bed. Cool box, stove, mallet, kettle and other bits and pieces in the shed. Plates, ice packs live in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. There isn't much order to it, but it all seems to come together fairly quickly when we're ready to go.

My friend has one of those lockable patio store things that she keeps all her camping gear in.
