Recommendations for campsites in Normandy

DH & I have camped in central and southern France before DD (2.5) came along, have stuck to England with her so far but planning to cross the Channel this year! Any recommendations for a campsite in Normandy? We thought we'd stay north this year, and save the long drive to the beaches in western France for another year...

Thanks in advance!

What sort of thing are you looking for? We stayed here with Eurocamp, I enjoyed it but its quite quiet, small one.

They have one small outdoor pool, but we didn't use it as weather not great, and we weren't there long. However, loved the feel of the place - the couple who run it are really nice, they run a little shop, a little restaurant and you can sit in the bar on an evening which is actually in the chateau - you can't take kids in though.

Ooo Pootles that looks lovely, thank you!
I was thinking it would be nice to be quite close to a beach, and with the option of an electric hook-up as we might go for a couple of weeks.

Ah beach isn't that close - about 25km to Deauville I think? We loved Honfleur, but again a little bit of a drive.

I can't link as on phone but we stayed at Utah beach. Check the Flower Camping website. It's right next to the beach. The pitches are big. It has a good reasonably priced restaurant, a covered heated pool, a bouncy castle, play ground with trampoline, and goats! It was about 40 mins drive to le Havre but would be closer to caen or cherbourg.

We've just booked here for this summer. A bit pricier than we had hoped but sounds quite idyllic. Fingers crossed!

chateau monfreville

Look at Chateaux Les Eaux in Pair Sur Mer. Lovely beach about 15 mins drive and a massive indoor pool. Site isn't too big and they don't have much entertainment so i think it would be quieter. Also a fab fab zoo just a bit down the road. Takes 4 hours from Calais.

I've stayed at chateau monfreville and would highly highly recommend. It's quite basic (no pool etc) but very lovely, nice loos, no cars, fab owners, very laid back

Ooh that's good to hear modestyb. Really looking forward to it.
