Camp bed recommendations

Can anyone recommend a double airbed that won't deflate in the middle of the night, and, erm ....... would be suitable for those more "romantic" camping moments?

Romantic camping moments? That's hilarious! Does it have to be an airbed? SIMs are much better and I'm sure would provide much more comfortable "moments"

Child free for a few days :) Thanks - how comfortable are those things? I have memories of the paper thin "sleeping mats" of childhood camping.

We are looking into getting SIMs as are sick of airbeds going down in the night (unfortunately not due to romantic moments).

What thickness would people recommend?

We have both SIMS (very thick ones) and aerobeds. We use SIMS for weekend camping in our ridge tent and aerobeds for anything longer.

I much prefer the aerobed. My hips hurt after a night on our SIMS which are 3 or 4 " thick, I can't remember which.

Our air beds have never gone down and we camp a lot, if they failed I would probably buy Neo-Air Dream pads which look really good. I think we camp enough to warrant the £.

rumbelina if you are going for a self inflating mattress then get as thick as you can we use the 10cm ones and find them comfy enough.

self inflating mattresses also benefit from being stored inflated where possible when they are not in use as the honeycomb foam inside them is more used to being inflated than deflated so they inflate quicker and better when you get somewhere to use them

If you want a decent airbed then get a campingaz or aerobed one, they are not as cheap as the supermarket ones but there is good reason for that

I happened to see one of our sims earlier (buried deep in a cupboard), they are 3.5 inches thick. They have fantastic reviews but are not comfy enough for me, honestly I wake up with numb hips/legs.

I bought them in the US so they are not available here but they are these, to compare to what is available here and now:

Exped are amazing, I have the thickest one and it's so comfy. Don't know about romantic moments sorry we go camping with two kids LOL
