Dear all

Have just received acknowledgement from La Garangeoire of booking (yipppeeee). But. After the vomit and exploding poo situation (serious yuck) in the summer hurrican on DFDS ferries with no loos working our side of the ferry, Flapping Lad has announced that he is NEVER going on a ferry again. We have done the drive in one before but that was going in a mobile home. Now we are towing a folding camper so feel we need an overnight or even two night stop on way down.

So. Recommendations for campsites to stop over on way
Or. Does anyone know of a Campanille or other budgetty chain holtel or even a chambre d'hote which has a big car park. We can unhitch the camper and move it separately into a car parking space but we can't maneouvre round tight, wiggly car parks.

Help!

Try www.hotel-bb.com/en/home.htm
We stayed near Rouen on the same route? Great family room, very reasonable, a diner thing over the road for your dinner and yummy buffet breakfast.

Thank you. There are two in Rouen. Do you remember which one as we'd need a diner thingy.

We stayed in a great B and B near Le Mans.. They offer meals as well.. www.lalunelake.co.uk.

Just realised it was Alencon, as Rouen was booked up.

The municipal campsite at Beaumont Sur Sarthe just north of Le Mans is good for a stopover. It's well run with clean facilities, close to the town for eating out and extremely cheap. You can book by email via the Office de Tourisme.

We stopped there during the Le Mans 24 hours a couple of years ago and had great fun watching all the Brits arriving in their mad sportscars.
