Never Gonna Fit!

Oh no! I have got so carried away expanding our camping supplies and now that I have looked everything out for our weekend away there is no way it is all going to fit in the car Blush

The last time it was a like a giant puzzle that took ages to sort. I bought vacuum pack bags to reduce the bedding and clearly have been under the illusions that I would now have lots of space Blush

Arrrrgggghhhhh

I know the feeling! It took me about 3 hours to work out how to pack everything in the car when we went camping. We ended up having to sit on our blankets with our pillows on our laps, and every bit of floor space was covered in bags. The boot was loaded so high, we couldn't see out of the back. I even had bags strung between the headrests on the front seats and bike helmets attached to the handles on the seats. I have bought even more stuff, so the only way we'll fit it all in is to reduce the amount of clothes we bring and just wash stuff when we're away if need be.

Have you got a roof box?

Romily · 21/08/2014 23:18

No we haven't got a roof box although I am gently drip feeding the idea to my OH in the hope that we will get one next year!

Maybe we could just wear all our clothes on the journey Smile

I would say get a trailer but it won't make any difference - you'll just take more stuff and still struggle to fit it all in!

We have a handiholdall and handirack and although it's a bit faffy to load it really is amazing! Just drove to France and back with no problems, no leaks etc. Doesn't damage the car and folds up to the size of a bed roll.

Highly recommend!

MissWimpyDimple had never heard of handiholdall and rack but looks fantastic!

The best thing about the handirack set up is that you can use it on any car. We swap it about depending on what car we are taking. Have had it on a Golf, Chrysler, Nissan so far and fitted well in all cases Smile
