Glamping

Hi everyone

My DS wants to go camping, but I'm really not into it, so have gone with a compromise.

We are staying in a traditional gypsy caravan on a site/working farm. The caravan had a bed, lights and electric sockets and a kettle. Breakfast is included in the form of a bacon/sausage butty from the farm kitchen.

The site has showers, toilets and a communal area with fridges and freezers.

I plan on taking bedding, stuff for brews, torches, toilet roll, towels etc.

We will be out and about most days, so will probably eat out. We don't have a camping stove anyway.

Am I over thinking this and will be fine with just taking the basic, as if we were in a small hotel room?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I spent 3 weeks in a 2 man tent in France for the World Cup in 1998 - I vowed never again lol.

Give me a 5* hotel anyday.

I would take camp chairs, or check there are some provided. If the weather's nice you won't want to sit in a tiny caravan, even if it's only first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

I'd take warm clothing and nightwear that you can layer, and some sort of footware you can wear in the shower block. Also insect repellant, depending on where you're going. Wellies could be useful too, stops wet grass soaking your feet in the morning.

Sensible - wellies. Didn't think about grass being wet in a morning. We'll take lots of layers.

I have mailed the site about chairs. I can't take any, as I've only got a 2 seater MX5. Ha ha, I am so unprepared for this!

Hope the weather improves in the next 10 days.
