Carnac campsites, Brittany?

We are thinking of booking a campsite in Carnac for next year (need something to look forward to)and just wondered if anyone had been and if so, what you thought of it. We would prefer an apartment, but the campsites seem much better equipped for children with waterslides, playgrounds etc.

We were in Brittany this year although a bit further along near Quimperle.
The site was brilliant with lots of outdoorsy activities, a very good swimming pool complex, own shop, restaurant, bar & creperie.
There was childrens clubs & entertainment if you wanted to use them. Site was well used by English, French & Dutch, all three languages spoken & used in publications.

We were in the area this summer. I couldn't get a site near Carnac as we had left it too late to book as usual, so we stayed a bit further away at La Roche Bernard (south on N165) and visited on a day trip. The campsite was called Camping Municipal Le Patis. It was fab. In a lovely town by the harbour. The campsite had everything except a baby bath and was as cheap as chips. Lots of places to go for day trips. La Baule an easy distance. Excellent. It's in the Alan Rogers guide book. I'd stay there again.

We stayed in a lovely campsite near LaBaule. I'd have to look up the details though - very forgetful!

The title made me laugh because we went to see the stones at Carnac while we were there and ds (just turning 3 at the time)was completely underwhelmed by them!

Thanks all for the recommendations. Not booked anything yet, am seeing if I can save up enough Tesco vouchers first!

I worked on a campsite near Carnac as a student god knows how many years ago now and would just warn you that grand met is a bit of a butlins of a campsite, so if you don't want full on entertainment all the time you might prefer else where. The sites at La Trinite sur mer which is a lovely port (Simon le Bon's boat was moored there whilst I worked there, that give you an idea of the timescale!!) are quieter than around Carnac

Things may have changed, earlysbird!

well yes I know but alot of french campsites are pretty big and full on and I can't imagine one that was big then being any smaller now
