I have a nine month old. Is it ok to camp with a nine month old baby? Any advice and tips?

I have no experience myself of camping with a baby, but I have been pitched next door to a family whose baby cried a lot during the night, every night. So I would say that it's entirely dependent on how good a sleeper/how quick to settle your baby is.

We did when DS was that age. My main tip it make a safe space for the baby so you can put up tent ect tha needs two hands. We used the car seat but so friends have used a travel cot. We had a good time and DS was a pretty happy camper.

Think about sleeping arrangements, is your tent big enough for your sleeping bags and a travel cot. Bring lots of layers for nighttime. Washing your hands after nappy changes might not be easy unless you are right by the toilet block so lots of wet wipes and alcohol gel if you like. Same for baby baths, I would just wet wipe wash for a few days. If baby is crawling a big blanket for the grass.

Otherwise should be the same as at home, enjoy!

we've just done 2 weeks with a 10mo and 2 ur old. they had a fab time. little one found it easiest to nod off in pushchair or have naps there but is now back in cot at home no harm done.

have fun!

We are just back from our first ever camping trip and we took our 7 month old with us and had an amazing time!

Thank fully we have a large tent (Mira 500) In the tent we had his play mat and changing area and took a travel cot which fitted in the bedroom with our double air bed.

At night we made sure he had lots of layers to keep him snuggly and he slept well. He seemed to really enjoy himself Smile

We camped with dd1 from 8 weeks and dd2 from 3 months, it's really fine. I always found mine slept much better in a tent than anywhere else.

In terms of keeping warm, putting them on a sheepskin is food with layers and a hat, and if the temperature drops overnight bring them into bed with you.

We used to either leave them in the car seat (brought out of the car so they could see us) or put them in a sling while putting up the tent.

I find camping with babies easier than camping with toddlers tbh.
