I am just back from my first ever camping trip and I am completely smitten! I loved each and every tiny part of it and I can now hardly wait to go again!

Now I am going to start hunting for all the wee extras to make our trips even better Smile

Just had to share with people who understand as all my friends are bemused at my joy!

Glad you enjoyed it. We understand here.

Delighted for you. As Slubber says - we understand here. Smile

I'm up supping coffee early this morning...we're off for a week's camping today. Hurrah!

Soooo much to dooooo!! Wink

Slubberdegullion · 04/08/2014 07:16

Have a good one Pictish Smile

We are off tomorrow so have a busy day ahead getting ready. We are going with my sister, BIL nephew and niece. Sis hasn't been camping since we were kids so not sure how she is going to find it!

pictish · 04/08/2014 07:56

Thanks - the house is in uproar.
All very exciting. Grin

Slubberdegullion · 04/08/2014 08:04

5 days and counting here.

pictish · 04/08/2014 08:36

And you with your awesome new tent on its maiden trip!

We (ok I) have been waxing lyrical about a driving/camping holiday to Holland, whereby we buy a new tent over there. Wink

fieldfare · 04/08/2014 08:43

We totally get it here too.
Dh and I sat yesterday and planned our camping trip for the last 2 weeks in August. 4 different campsites and lots to see and do - road trip!
Although we're in our lovely old motorhome so it does make it a lot easier.

ViviPru · 04/08/2014 09:28

I understand. It's like a compulsion. We're off this weekend too after a 3-week hiatus and I'm like a kid before Christmas.

What wee extras did you have in mind,Romily?

Romily · 04/08/2014 13:42

I would like a light that I can read/crochet by as our camp lantern was dreadful.

Then I need to figure out how to keep warm in the evening as I was very cold sitting about (no fire allowed) even though I had on thermals, PJs and coat Blush

A mat to put shoes on for inside the tent.

Also considering vacuum pack bags so we have more space in the car!

I'm going in 5 days soo excited, it the first time for my Dd ( 18 months) and I know she will absolutely love it. This site has been great for tips and advice xx

TheFantasticMrsFox · 04/08/2014 22:27

We do understand here

Though you should understand that all "the extras" and the bits others tell you you need that you didn't know you needed do add up to the same as two weeks on the Med eventually :o

Wolfiefan · 04/08/2014 22:29

See I thought of vacuum bags but then realised I couldn't revacuum them in campsite!!
2 and a bit weeks and counting until we go again...

TheFantasticMrsFox · 04/08/2014 22:39

wolfie you either buy the ones that you can roll out (they don't get as much air out as vacuuming) or standard ones and use the other end of a bed blower upper :)

ViviPru · 04/08/2014 22:57

I'll only camp if we can take the fire pit! That and an ikea sheepskin lining my moon chair and fleece blankets keep the chill off after dark Smile

fieldfare · 05/08/2014 18:20

Fleecey blankets and thick socks to help keep warm, oh and a beanie hat.
Use the bags that you sit on to squish the air out.

Glad you enjoyed it - where did you go?
