SIMs Vs air beds. REALLY??

Please reassure me. I've invested in some pricey SIMs for us, and slightly cheaper for the DCs.

But they seem so thin.

Are they really going to be better than our old airbed?

Just a bit nervous about our first trip with them next week, and I'm tempted to chuck in the air bed as well if there's room.

ElPollo we have the 7.5 vango, it's fine for bonking.

I really want you to put that in the reviews Grin

Well for anyone still interested (WAKE UP AT THE BACK! Grin )

The SIMs were BRILLIANT. I'm so impressed!

They're the same as the ones linked to above by Minimalist and they were so very comfy. Thoroughly recommended.

Admittedly, they weren't totally self inflating and DP did give them some extra air from a pump, but once inflated no complaints. I should really watch that link to see how they're supposed to work!

Isn't the Megamat great Zingle? It was the best camping trip I've had and it's all down to the fact that my bed was heaven to sleep on, I felt as refreshed (if not more so tbh) then sleeping on my bed at home. It was comfy and cosy and brilliant for being a side sleeper!

Also reporting back (well, still a lot of camping to go)- I have the vango 7.5s for the first time after years of airbeds and they are brilliant. So glad I bought them. Going to sell all the many airbeds when I get back!

Bugger we just bought the crap mountain warehouse bones mentioned up thread :(

Fourarmsv2 · 17/08/2014 19:15

We have Alpkit Dozer £80 SIMS.

The kids have £12 ALDI SIMS.

Theirs are better - easier to inflate, deflate and are comfier. :(

We've just done our first camp with SIMs instead of airbeds. I was a little skeptical that we would be comfortable on a 5cm SIM but bought one anyway in the sales. I must say I am now one of the converted! It was more comfortable, no rolling off, warmer and didn't deflate in the night.
I also bought the kids cheap 3cm SIMs from ALDI and they were equally impressed.

We slept on a double sim this year after years of airbed a deflating after 3 uses!
I was amazed at how much better we slept- so comfy and warm am a total concert!
