Our long haul trip of a lifetime for two weeks in August has been cancelled (long story) and so we've decided to head to France on the ferry in the first week of August. I LOVE France and we've stayed in Brittany, Central France & Cote D'Azur before. I will go anywhere & merrily drink wine...but the other half is a sun worshipper (complete opposite to me).
Anyhowwww...I booked the ferry yesterday and have literally spent all day glued to the computer looking for sites. I've tried all the usual suspects in Aquitaine, Charente-Maritime & Languedoc..and either there is no availability or the lottery would have to be won in the next two weeks.
Does anyone have any suggestions for smaller campsites?. I should mention that I was looking at rentals today, as we've only camped for a night here or there at home..and I'm not sure if our equipment would be up to scratch for a week or two..but maybe I'm wrong?.
Any help or suggestions would be welcome!!

Is it only campsites you are looking for?

We stayed at www.lelzetgites.com a few years ago and really loved it. The place, area and the owner were all divine.

Sorry, that link doesn't work for some reason. The place is called L'Elzet and it's in the Cevennes.

We stayed at Les Valades last year and will be returning this year as we loved it so much. They may have rentals left and probably pitches too. Great pool and lake.
