Tardis coldbox?

We often seem to camp on sites without access to freezer to refreeze icepacks, and prefer not to shop whilst away just for a weekend. having just thrown away some dodgy smelling meat from our coldbox, it's time to invest. I know people lust after icey tek ones, but DH has pointed out that if they are so good at insulating, the walls must be thick, so for a box the same size as our current one, we will fit less food inside. Is this true or is there such a thing as a tardis coolbox?

The walls don't seem particularly thick at all.

And no risk of dodgy meat after a weekend, with an IceyTek.

Is it worth decanting what you can into freezer bags and smaller boxes to fit into icey tec coolbox?

Also, if space is at a premium we tend to coolbox meat, milk etc and have an overflow coolbag for cheese, salad items if needed. As the colbox gets space we add these bits back in.

I think it's the grade of the insulation in the Icey Tek rather than the amount of it IYSWIM? So while it is amazingly good at keeping stuff cold you don't lose out vastly in terms of having very thick walls.
Even DH is a convert and he was distinctly Hmm about spending so much on a cool box

OK, sounds like not too thick then. We often do get rid of boxes etc and there is rarely room for salad stuff. I find several bottles of milk, butter and meat seem to fill it. Thanks all, will try to persuade DH

The Coolbox Uk we site shows you exactly what you can fit in each size of box.

We freeze almost everything that goes into our tekster too. Makes it all last longer.
