  • so not alone, but not with DP!
I have put up the tent alone before and know I can do it. but I wondered about - I suppose - conventions with things like loos.

If dd1 wakes up in the night and has to be taken to the loo, will I have to wake up dd2 and take her too? What alternatives are there? has anyone persuaded a 5 year old to use a potty?

If I need to go, can I slink off to the trees with a she-wee or is that outrageously bad form on a naice camp site?

get and take a camping toilet. the aldi one is good.

ok, thanks!
I didn't really want to overload our smallish car so was hoping to avoid something like that, but if that's the only way...
anything else I need to know about camping with two littles and one adult?
any pro tips?

I've got a luggable loo. You can pack loads inside them so they're not as much of a space vampire as they look. With some of this to stop it stinking m.gooutdoors.co.uk/blue-diamond-when-nature-calls-toilet-fluid-p148977

I've camped loads with my 2 boys and it's great. I would make sure that your tent doesn't take too long to put up alone as certainly my 2 at a similar age didn't have the patience to wait and were very keen to 'help' aka get in the way

Alcohol helps too :o

Or if you're really stuffed for space regarding a toilet then try these www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000ZLPKKO?cache=eb4579d69676c5ac8b01a9a655021a58&pi=AC_SX110_SY165&qid=1404494779&sr=8-8#ref=mp_s_a_1_8

You can get adult sized ones and ones for poo too.

Mine are 5 and 7 and if they need a wee in the night they just go behind the tent . (Choose a pitch backing onto some discreet shrubbery!)

I had a small lidded bucket for this situation... thankfully rarely needed it!

Def let them have a wild wee behind the tent or take a bucket. Don't know about your kids but if the it were mine and the other child wakes up while you are off at the toilet block they will not be happy. Also re you weeing in nearby tree, depends on the campsite. Somewhere a bit wilder, I'd say its fine.Just watch out for where the light is. Campsites with manicured lawns etc maybe not!
