Also for occasional sleepover use at home (if comfy enough) They aren't allowed air beds. Or any other recommendations?

I can't see the one you mean but it sounds like the one DS1 has for cubs. We've had no complaints and it's easy for him to inflate. He's done 4 camps on it.
Mind you they wear them out so much he would probably sleep standing up if it came to itSmile

Clickable link for you

I think it will be fine, both the kids and is sleep on super cheapy aldi/lidl mats, they are far comfier than our very expensive old air bed.

I have that one for scout camps as they are so light. It is surprisingly comfy but does require a little extra puff to inflate it fully (self inflating my arse :o)

CharmQuark · 01/07/2014 17:09

It will be fine.
More than fine.
IME kids are actually OK on cheapie ordinary roll out foam mats.
Half the kids I camp with sleep on those.

GobblersKnob · 01/07/2014 17:43

Indeed my kids get foam mats of we take the small tent as you can't fit 4 sims in the sleeping area. They never notice the difference. I have camped ask my life and only graduated from a foam may in my mid-twenties WinkGrin

Christ the predictive errors in that

HibiscusIsland · 01/07/2014 18:17

You are right. When I camped as a kid we didn't even have the foam mats and I was fine. Thanks though. Think I will get that one.

Children weigh less so their bones don't press through the mat like ours do.
